NH storyteller Jo Putnam visits the Corner House Inn’s Storytelling Dinner program on Thursday evening, March 4th. Jo’s vibrant, heartfelt, down-to-earth stories spring from a lifetime's wealth of experiences as teacher, writer, workshop designer, environmentalist, widely-traveled army wife, camp counselor, mother and grandmother. A native of northern Illinois, Jo's mid-western roots were the fodder for her Mid-Western Cowgirl stories. Other stories were fueled while volunteering as a loon observer and wolf tracker with the Sigurd Olsen Environmental Institute. Listening to and observing people and the natural world is an ongoing inspiration for her story creation.
She says “Stories are ageless and evergreen…stories connect us to each other, ourselves, our heritage, other cultures, creation, live, the universe…everything! Stories enlighten, enliven, inspire, instruct, and heal. Stories breathe life…imaginatively…with joy, laughter, tears and love.”
Thursday March 4th’s storytelling program will include a few stories, poems and songs “to bring smiles to our faces…and love into our lives." Storytelling Dinners are held every Thursday evening at the Corner House in Center Sandwich from late Oct. through May. Dinner begins at 6:30 pm, and the cost is $19.95 per person, plus tax and gratuity. For more information and reservations contact the Corner House Inn at 284-6219, or online at info@cornerhouseinn.com.
